Purchasing industrial equipment from China for Gulf, North African, and Middle Eastern projects

Purchasing industrial equipment from China without a partner who understands your language and your project requirements has a hidden cost that rarely appears in the quotation.

We regularly see this in Oil & Gas EPC contracts in the Gulf, mining projects in Algeria and Morocco, and water treatment contracts in Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia.

Three recurring problems

1. Valid test certificate, undetected technical deviation

The manufacturer ships an API 6D valve with a passing test certificate, but the inspector did not read the data sheet with the same focus you would have exercised if you were on-site. No one detected the deviation until the line reached operational pressure. The gap is not in the certificate; the gap is in the field verification.

2. Liberal interpretation of technical specifications

Technical specifications arrive in English, are freely interpreted by the supplier, and the deviation only surfaces during final inspection. Negotiating from China from ten thousand kilometers away is as slow as you might imagine. The solution is not to modify the specifications later, but to perform a linguistic and technical review before issuing the Request for Quotation (RFQ).

3. A schedule achieved on paper, delayed in actual shipping

Manufacturing schedules hold up on paper, but actual shipment is delayed by two weeks because no one conducted site visits during manufacturing. Weekly production status verification, with photographic reports, reveals delays before they become critical scheduling issues.

What we do

We are not a factory. We are not a broker. We are your procurement office in China: we manage suppliers, oversee manufacturing, coordinate third-party inspections, and deliver documentation ready for your project dossier.

If you are buying from China for an EPC project in the Gulf (Saudi Aramco, ADNOC, QatarEnergy, Kuwait Oil), a mining project in North Africa (Sonatrach, OCP), or a water treatment contract in the Middle East—the conversation is worth a fifteen-minute Teams call.
